We received an outstanding response to our advertisement for the next Editor of ConservativeHome. The role attracted exceptional applicants from across journalism, communications, and politics—a testament to the respected position this site holds within the media and political landscape.
After careful consideration, we are delighted to announce that Giles Dilnot will be joining us as our new Editor from today, 19th August.
Giles has had an extensive career to date spanning journalism, politics, and communications. From his time as a journalist and presenter at the BBC, including his work on the highly regarded Daily Politics show, Giles brings not only a deep understanding of political reporting but also a unique ability to engage with and analyse the most pressing issues of the day.
His subsequent roles as Director of Communications at the Legatum Institute and the Office of the Children’s Commissioner for England have equipped him with a broad perspective on public policy and strategic communication, which he further enhanced during his recent stint as a Special Advisor to the Foreign Secretary and Home Secretary.
Giles will hit the ground running, overseeing our comprehensive coverage of the Conservative Party leadership election and chairing several events in our exciting Party Conference fringe programme. His editorial leadership will ensure that ConservativeHome continues to be the go-to source for insights, analysis and breaking news on centre-right politics. To keep up to date and get the latest news in your inbox each day, remember to subscribe to ConservativeHome’s mailing list.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our Deputy Editor, Henry Hill, Assistant Editor, William Atkinson, and the entire ConservativeHome team for their impressive work during this period of transition. Their diligence has been instrumental in maintaining the high standards you, our readers, expect, especially during such a busy time in British politics.
Giles and I will be working closely together to build on our successes and lead the site to even greater heights. I am confident that under his editorial leadership, ConservativeHome will continue to thrive, innovate, and remain a crucial voice in the media and political landscape.
Please join me in welcoming Giles Dilnot to the ConservativeHome family.
Angus Parsad-Wyatt, Chief Executive of ConservativeHome
