A theme of Isaac Levido’s at last week’s Cabinet awayday was that things aren’t going to get better – not for the time being, anyway. The Conservative Party is being punished in the polls for the state of Britain and its own turmoil in 2022.
And just as the polls aren’t changing much, nor is our Cabinet League Table. At -6.2, Jeremy Hunt has almost exactly the same negative rating as last month. Rishi Sunak drops from 13.1 to 2.9. The top three are as they were last month. In the wake of his moving Section 35 of the Scotland Act to veto trans self-ID in Scotland, Alister Jack rises from 33.4 and eighth place to 39.4 and sixth.
The survey went out on Friday, and readers will not be surprised by Nadhim Zahawi’s negative rating – though it doesn’t reach the record low of -73.5 that Theresa May obtained in the spring of 2019. Dominic Raab is now also in the drop zone.
