Dame Priti Patel former Home Secretary, and recently shadow Foreign Secretary issued a statement on Sunday 30 August saying she was leaving the shadow cabinet to take up a new role for the Party.
Her statement followed days of speculation about her future in Kemi Badenoch’s top team, and a Telegraph story suggesting that Tom Tugendhat MP will be made shadow Foreign Secretary in any imminent reshuffle Badenoch is about to make.
